These are supplemental lecture notes on mathematical induction. They were written for Math 3200. I think they might be helpful for this course as well, so I have included a link to them. If you don't find them to be helpful, please feel free to ignore them: there is no required material here. - Notes on Groups, Rings and Fields: These are contained in Appendices A and B of the course text. Please be aware that there is MORE algebra in these appendices than we will need in our course. For instance Sections 4 and 5 of Appendix B are more than we need.
